Why me?

What's it like working with me?

I’ve been writing (and doing real jobs) for a while. Twenty years in a global management consultancy. Five in higher education and not for profit. Five in manufacturing engineering.
I’ve got a masters in organisational development. A degree in engineering. Licences in a few psychometric tools. And a proofreading qualification. But these aren’t laurels I rest on. They’re experiences I draw from. I’m still learning. My curiosity, listening and questioning help me understand my clients, their purpose, their strengths, their needs and their audiences.

Writing the words is easy if you do the groundwork first:
  • What do you want to say? And why?
  • Who are you talking to? What do they need?
  • Why should they listen to you? What makes you different?
  • What do you want them to do? And why?
  • What ideas, words and tone will catch their interest?
  • Where does your story fit within your other priorities and content?
  • Who else is involved? What’s our review and approval process?

Sam’s vast experience means she has been able to understand our business and objectives far quicker and more deeply than other people we have spoken to. Given her background, Sam has also acquired a broad set of skills and can therefore give a level of support way greater than most.
Mark Constable, MD, Business Consultant and Coach at Equip Business

Sam seems to work in a very rigorous, methodical way – printing things out, going through them, making lists. That’s nice to see.
Meg Roberts, Creative Director at Schwa Consulting

Sam understands HR and talent markets very well, her written work is of a very high standard, she is a clear thinker and good at facilitating a discussion.
